Dogpacking Routes in Australia
Dog-friendly cycling routes are not a common concept within the travel and tourism industry. With more Australian households warming up to and becoming obsessed with their canine companions, Dogpacking Australia aims to explore and carve out some options for those who love sharing outdoor adventures with their best mates.

While this page is still very much under construction, we aim to share our completed and planned trips with those who may be interested.
If you have completed dogpacking routes of your own and wish to share, reach out! We'd love to include it here. |
Disclaimer:
Before going on each of the rides below, we reached out to either the trail builders or tourism company in charge to see if we could cycle with Chino & Kira in crates on the back of our bikes, and what areas the dogs would be allowed to roam or run alongside (paw-to-pavement). Some trails involved traveling through private properties with livestock, or through nature reserves. Out of respect and safety, Chino & Kira were required to remain in their crates but were allowed to pass through.
We follow all regulations and respect the trail builders, tourism companies, land owners, livestock and native flora and fauna in each area, and would never put any living being in danger.
Photography: There are instances where Kira can be seen moving alongside the bike, sometimes off-leash. These were performed in very short bursts in fenced areas with no livestock. Generally, the only safe time that photos could be taken when not leaning on a tree or wall were when Kira was not on the bicycle crate as there would not be a heavy rear weight shift when stationary.
