The rear rack and cage mounts come in a lovely bright and shiny aluminium colour. But I'm not about that at all, so they received a few coats of Rustoleum's Gloss Black and Clear coat as a quick and dirty coat. Yes, I don't expect it to keep the abrasion at bay. Chips and marks will occur overtime and use. I will creatively chalk it up to an aging coat of wabi-sabi mixed in with patina perfection.
